Irene Dion

Born in Churchill, Manitoba, Irene Dion is a self-taught Cree artist whose passion for art was shaped by her youth spent observing wildlife and the land across the Baffin, Kivalliq, and Kitikmeot regions. She began her creative journey working in graphite before expanding into colored pencils, painting, and, more recently, feather painting — a medium she has embraced for the past four years.

After taking a break from her art, Irene returned to Churchill in 2017, where she reignited her creative spirit. Today, she is a proud member of the Churchill Creative Collective, contributing to its mission of supporting and celebrating northern talent through arts markets and community workshops.
